CIEH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

 

 

Introduction

This ground breaking qualification is set to change the way companies consider health and safety. This half day qualification acts as a punchy outline of the basics of health and safety that will protect both the candidate and their fellow workers in all areas of employment.

Who will benefit?

This qualification will benefit those who are entering the workplace for the first time, either as part of a work experience programme or at the start of employment, by providing an awareness of key health and safety issues and the part they should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm at work.  It will also benefit those who are starting a new job - as part of an induction programme.

Learning outcomes

On completing this course candidates will understand:

  • The importance of health and safety in the workplace
  • The scope of hazards and risks in the workplace
  • A range of workplace conditions that can affect health and safety
  • The requirements relating to reporting, first aid, personal protection and personal hygiene

Entry Qualifications and Progression

There are no entry qualifications for this course. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Assessment

There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 10 out of 15 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Venue

Courses may be held in house at your premises. We appreciate that it is sometimes difficult to release staff on training courses; therefore we offer the flexibility to hold the course either in the morning, afternoon or evening, to suit your business requirements. We also regularly run public courses at our training centres.

Duration

Half a day

We usually aim to start the course at 9am and finish by 12.30pm
