CIEH Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles

 

 

Introduction

This course allows candidates to develop their basic fire safety awareness. It is particularly useful for employees who are to have a designated responsibility for workplace fire safety, for example as fire wardens or fire marshals, and provides the knowledge that will allow them to carry out duties relating to fire safety and emergency procedures. Successfully completing this course will enable you to become a fire warden/marshal in your organisation.

Who will benefit?

This course is designed for employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.)

Learning outcomes

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to develop:

  • general knowledge and understanding of fire safety in the workplace
  • a foundation knowledge of the risk controls associated with fire in the workplace
  • knowledge of the main types of fire safety equipment

Entry Qualifications and Progression

There are no entry qualifications for this course although basic fire safety awareness to Level 1 standard is recommended. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 3 Award in Fire Safety Risk Assessment and Control (coming soon).

Assessment

The method of assessment is a multiple choice examination at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 10 out of 15 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles.
