CIEH Level 2 Award in the Principles of Risk Assessment

 

 

Introduction

This course is designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and safety and helps to raise employees' awareness of the concept of risk assessment in a work environment.  The main purpose is to enable candidates to understand the basic principles of risk assessment and give them the ability to contribute to the risk assessment process.

Who will benefit?

This course is designed for anyone with a responsibility to conduct risk assessments. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of general health and safety matters prior to taking the course.

Learning outcomes

Successful completion of the training programme, assignment and self-evaluation will enable candidates to:

  • Contribute to the risk assessment programmes at their workplace
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Organise and implement a risk assessment programme
  • Participate in the identification of specific training raised through risk assessment
  • Assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and safety in the workplace

Entry Qualifications and Progression     

It would be an advantage and we strongly recommend that candidates take the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace course, prior to attending this course. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment - Principles and Practice.

Venue

Courses can be held in house at your premises. We appreciate that it is sometimes difficult to release staff on training courses; therefore we offer the flexibility to hold the course either as a one-day course, two half-day courses or even at a weekend, to suit your business requirements. We also regularly run public courses at our training centres.

Duration

1 day

We usually aim to start the course at 9am and finish by 5pm

Assessment

There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 20 out of 30 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment. Test papers and course books are available in several different languages and tests can also be conducted orally. QCA Accredited.
