Environmental Awareness Training

Introduction

The need for businesses to address environmental issues has never been greater. No business can afford to neglect the law, however many do not realise the full extent of their obligation. Legislation is becoming increasingly more active in forcing businesses to address environmental performance amid concerns over global warming, decline of natural resources and pollution.

Who will benefit?

This course is recommended for individuals who have an interest or key environmental responsibilities and require a basic level of understanding in order to fulfil their obligation and thus contribute in helping the business become more environmentally efficient.

Learning outcomes

To enable delegates to:

• Identify, define and explain relevant environmental problems facing the business and society as a whole
• Identify, define and explain environmental aspects and their impacts
• Understand and implement simple measures to reduce the environmental effect of the business
• Understand the benefits of an environmental management system and how they can contribute to business compliance

• Environmental Issues(climate change, depletion of resources etc)
• Outline of relevant legislation
• Understanding pollution and its effect
• BS EN 14001 Environmental Management System
• Understanding environmental aspects and impacts
• Waste management

Training Method

A mixture of PowerPoint presentation, syndicate exercises, DVD, interaction with course tutor and end of course test paper.

Duration

Half a day

We usually aim to start the course at 9am and finish by 12.30pm
