CIEH Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice

 

Who will benefit?

This course is designed for anyone with a responsibility to conduct risk assessments. It is particularly useful for managers and supervisors but it will be equally beneficial to individual workers, team leaders, technicians, engineers or any other personnel contributing to the risk assessment process. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of general health and safety matters prior to taking the course.

Learning outcomes

Successful completion of the training programme, assignment and self-evaluation will enable candidates to:

  • Contribute to the risk assessment programmes at their workplace
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Organise and implement a risk assessment programme
  • Participate in the identification of specific training raised through risk assessment
  • Assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and safety in the workplace

Entry Qualifications and Progression     

It would be an advantage and we strongly recommend that candidates take the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace Course, prior to attending this course. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Assessment

Following the course, candidates are required to undertake an assignment consisting of a risk assessment on the candidate’s own work environment. It is expected that this will take between 10-12 hours and should be completed within four weeks of the course. Candidates are required to complete the course, assignment and self-evaluation achieving 60% or more in order to receive a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Risk Assessment Certificate. QCA Accredited.

Venue

Courses can be held at your premises. We appreciate that it is sometimes difficult to release staff on training courses; therefore we offer the flexibility to hold the course either as a one-day course, two half-day courses or even at a weekend, to suit your business requirements. We also regularly run "open" courses at centralised locations.

Duration

The duration of the course is 7 hours. We usually aim to start the course at 9.00am and therefore taking into account time for refreshment and lunch breaks, the course usually finishes around 5.30pm.

Public Course: £125 + vat per person inclusive of all training material, certificates, tea/coffee and lunch
